Let's face it, Apple Vision Pro flopped, especially by Apple standards.
It was too expensive, with a limited list of use cases, and so sales were far below expectations.
By contrast, Meta is doing great things with its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
They're pretty neat.
You can use them as cameras, headphones, and an AI assistant.
You look at a flower, for example, and ask it, "Meta, what's this flower I'm looking at?" and Meta will respond and explain how to keep that flower alive.
Apple is working on chips for glasses, and the idea is to have a prototype ready by next year, with a production version by 2027.
Only thing remains to be seen.
Meta did the smart thing, no pun intended, and relied on Ray-Ban for the glasses part.
Apple, as we all know, tends to want to do everything on its own, in-house.
So let's see how that goes.
