Apple iPhone Fold is nearly ready

So, according to Digitimes, the long-awaited, much-talked-about iPhone Fold (working title) is nearly ready.

And by nearly ready I mean the working prototype is ready and good to go.

They say that they claim that they heard that they call it Prototype 1, or P1 (very original) and that's basically a fully working model that's nearly as good as the one you and I will be able to buy.

They also say that, between late 2025 and early 2026, they're going to be go through the EVT (Engineering Verification Test) which, once done, will produce the end result.

If everything goes to plan, we'll get the phone in the second half of 2026.

It'll cost a fortune, no doubt.

But what's really important is that they get it right.

Apple openly says it doesn't care about being first, which is fair enough.

The problem is, in recent times, Apple half botched two things: Vision Pro, which underperformed, and AI, which a lot of shareholders and customers are saying is late to the game.

I personally don't like foldable phones. The concept is cool, but they still look a bit naff for now. But we'll see.
