What is the Pi Network?

By carlkidcrypto | Carlkid Crypto | 1 Apr 2020

Pi Network

The Pi Network is a cryptocurrency being developed by a team of graduate students at Stanford. The application is currently available for both Andriod and Apple platforms. The Pi Network has three main goals for their Pi CryptoCurrency.

  • Decentralized: Secure, Immutable, non-counterfeitable and interoperable digital money.

  • Mobile First: Works on your mobile phone and does not drain your battery.
  • User & Planet Friendly: Easy to use security at scale, without the massive electrical waste.

Needless to say, they are not the only cryptocurrency you can mine on your phone. What sets them apart is the fact that it's being developed by a team of Standford graduate students. Below you'll find a video off of their website that helps explain Pi Network a bit more.

If the video wasn't enough for you then like most projects they have a detailed whitepaper that you can read. The link for the whitepaper is here. Be warned though it is lengthy and some parts went over my head when I read it.

How to mine Pi?

If you want to get started and mine Pi on your smartphone then click my referral link: https://minepi.com/carlkid . Using my link it'll give you a small bonus Pi mining rate. The project is still under development so it is not currently available on exchanges. The project actually just recently entered into Phase 2 of the Pi Networks plan. Phase 2 is basically getting up a test network for Pi and beginning the decentralization of the Pi Network. The Pi app will require you to open the app once every 24 hours and hit the button which looks like a lightning bolt. At the current rates, I am making about 0.40 pi/hr. You can make more by expanding what they refer to as your "Security Circle". Your security circle is a group of people that you trust to do business with. It ensures the network is protected with people who trust each other with money. That's my simple explanation, but there are more details in the whitepaper about all the features.

Should I mine Pi?

That is really all up to you. I started mining Pi right after I read the whitepaper. I thought to myself, "Wow! What a cool project! It's being made by students". To be honest, I haven't made a lot of Pi, but I like engaging in crypto projects that have a strong community and it is being regularly updated. Let me know what you think? Are you already mining Pi?

Lastly, if you would like to mine Pi make sure to use my referral link.

Thanks for your time and energy!

Peace out!

I think crypto is awesome. I am by no means a pro. Is it the future? Possibly? Only time will tell! Did I mention I like to read!
