Hello All,
It has been far too long since my last post. But today, I discovered something awesome! I like most crypto holders and anyone who has a wallet occasionally receives SHIT coins that weren't asked for. Sometimes these SHIT coins have some value and can be cashed out. Typically, my routine goes like this.
Option 1
1. received new SHIT coin that claims to be $$$$$$$$$$$
2. Try to exchange SHIT coins on QuickSwap by adding a contact address.
3. Oh some $ (usually enough to cover gas plus a few extra MATIC)
4. Feel awesome for getting extra pennies on MATIC to cover gas costs! :)
Or
Option 2
1. received new SHIT coin that claims to be $$$$$$$$$$$
2. Try to exchange SHIT coins on QuickSwap by adding a contact address.
3. Oh some $ (not enough to cover gas. is not worth trading it)
4. Feel horrible looking at useless pieces of SHIT coins in my wallet :(
Most of the time it is a mix of option 1 or 2. Mostly option 2. But today, I decided to google, "how to burn tokens on Matic network by sending to 0x000". For those non-programmers out there 0x0 is typically associated with the concept of "NULL". To make it simple "NULL" means nothing, undefined, etc. So by sending tokens to address NULL they should be gone or in crypto, terms BURN. Well, not so fast because this is the post I ran across.

Turns out the top answer was to create a smart contract and some other stuff I didn't want to try and do. It is not that I can't learn how to do it. It is just that's a lot of effort to get rid of SHIT tokens. Here I was excited, but then I SCROLLED DOWN!

This person whoever they are got two freaking upvotes! I figured that's good enough for me. Luckily there is something called "polygonscan" to look up addresses. Searching for that address revealed the following.

Now, this is starting to look really promising. What did I do next? Well,
1. Added that address to my MetaMask wallet: 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD
2. Called it,
3. Sent those mofo SHIT coins to "BURN BITCHES".
4. Waited for the transaction to complete
Did this actually work you maybe be asking? Well, to be honest, yes. Why? Well because it's not an address that belongs to another soul who hates receiving SHIT coins. Rather it is an address commonly used by projects to burn coins. Oh, and they are NOT in my wallet anymore! I call that SUCCESS :D! I tried this with ERC20 tokens, but it seems like it may work with other types as well. One warning though. DO NOT SEND ACTUAL TOKENS YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS ADDRESS. YOU WON'T GET THEM BACK!
That's all for today folks! Thanks for your time, maybe giggles, I don't know. PEACE OUT!

Update: I am having limited success. Some tokens will error out because transfers are disabled. Or because their contact address is paused/frozen.
