Today I wanted to take some time to do the math for this season and really figure out how far we can get AND if purchasing the premium or season passes are worth our hard-earned (or mined) money. Also, (in a future post because this is a bit longer than planned) I'll be sharing how merging miners is working out and how to do it since it's a new feature and whether or not it's worth it to merge miners.
Needed Points
This season players have 30 levels to work through and each level requires 100 points in order to progress to the next. In total players must earn 300 points if they would like to earn all of the possible rewards.
As published in my previous post-RollerCoin Season 3 Impressions Day 3, Of the "free" rewards, those are the ones offered without needing to purchase any pass, players can be rewarded with free miners at levels 3, 8, 13, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 29. That means, you don't have to purchase the event pass for it but you do have to make the 2900 points to reach level 29 and receive the final miner. The miners that they are offered for free are the RollerMinier S4 (1,000 Gh/s), the Rolleron 741 (3,000 Gh/s), the RollerMiner S5 (4,000 Gh/s), the Gold Digger (15,000 Gh/s), Chupacabra (14,000 Gh/s), El Monstro (110,000 Gh/s). There are two additional free rewards to earn which are the Golden Christmas Tree trophy (level 18) and 5 Roller Token (Level 21). The total GH/s players can earn from these free miners alone is 147,000 GH/s which isn't a bad haul for "free"!
How Easy Is it To Earn XP To Level Up?
This season there are 61 total days with and quests are completed daily. That means that in 61 days players have the ability to earn a total of 39 XP per day (39*61) so 2379 XP for the season.
The free quests alone will give you a total of 26 XP per day (yes that includes the invite a friend) (26*61) so if you spend no money or profit back into the game you are looking at a total of 1586 XP for the season.
If you HATE the infamous "invite a friend quest" as I do because it's challenging once you've run through your friend's list - we are now looking at only making 21 XP a day or (21*61) 1281 XP.
The next number to add to these totals would be the daily bonus points that are divided out by days, this is the most simple XP to gain and we have a total of 8.71 weeks or 8 weeks and 5 days. If you are able to log in daily that is an easy 640+ XP. I can't tell you the exact amount of XP because I'm unsure how they plan to account for the last 5 days. Perhaps it will be 675XP as that is the most conservative number I can come up with and I rather under than overestimate.
So between the quests and daily bonus a player can earn 3054XP if they do absolutely all of the quests which seems like players can be a bit picky with what they want to complete and what they don't want to complete.
Total XP for bonus and free quests only:2261 XP (Level 22) PLay for free players would earn: 5 free miners (37,000 GH/s), the Golden Christmas Tree Trophy, and 5 RollerToken
Total XP for the bonus, free quests, minus the invite a friend: 1956 XP (Level 19) PLay for free players would earn: 4 free miners (23,000 GH/s), the Golden Christmas Tree Trophy
Is The Event Pass Worth It?
There are two things that I want all players to consider when debating on this. First, how long are you intending to stay with RollerCoin? If this is a long-term investment then I would say one of these passes might be worth it. Let's take a closer look.
Completing all quests and bonuses. 13 miners totaling 1,302,000 GH/s or 1.202 Ph/s, 30 RLT, 2 trophies, 282 days of varying bonus power. So if looking at the 99.99 RLT technically a player will be paying 69.99 RLT in the end, again this is if a player earns up to 3000 XP.
Total XP for bonus and free quests only:2261 XP (Level 22) 8 miners totaling 437,000 GH/s, 25 RLT, 222 days of varying bonus power. In this case, the 99.99 RLT would actually cost 74.99 once a player has made back their RLT from the rewards.
Total XP for the bonus, free quests, minus the invite a friend: 1956 XP (Level 19) 6 miners 283,000 GH/s, 20 RLT, and also 222 days of varying bonus power. In this case, the player would be spending the most on the upgrade. 99.99 RLT would be 79.99 RLT on they earn the RLT rewards.
Consider This
How far are you able to go before the end of the season? Personally, I plan to play the free version until there is 1 day left for this season. If you are curious why that is my plan, take a look at the Premium price in the picture above. That price drops 10.00 RLT for every level you pass. For instance, I am currently working through level 6. The Premium Pass initially cost players 399.99. For the 5 levels, I've completed RollerCoin has removed 50 RLT from the purchase price of the Premium pass. If I plan on working up to say level 20, that "should" be 200 RLT off unless they stop taking RLT off at some point, that remains to be seen. In any case, if my estimation is correct and they drop 200 if I make it to level 20, I WILL 100% without a doubt purchase the Premium pass and have all of the items for this season. It's something to consider trying, I will let everyone know how this season went in about 49 Days.
