Ban Wave 1
An interesting update came down from RollerCoin today. It sounds like they are working on making the game more equitable for players and in that effort identified players who were taking advantage of the system. Let's just call this what it is, they were cheating. Not only were they cheating RollerCoin out of profits but they were cheating the community and all players out of profits as well. In this first wave of banning players, here's the message from the RollerCoin Team:
We want to have a talk with you, which will address the misunderstanding related to the Season II Dark Star™️ and the newest changes in RollerCoin ☝️🤓
First things first – the ban wave and its nature:
If you ever used a plugin to solve the captcha or have used scripts on even one single game — you receive a permanent auto-ban on your account!
We don’t tolerate unfair playing and never advance players who use third-party services for automation processes. Also, we have been banning accounts of players that registered fake accounts to complete the event quests.
Terms of Service

They promised that this was only the first wave of bans with more to follow. For players who have not read the terms of service, it's highly suggested that it's reviewed. There are reasons to be banned which many people would not think of. If a player's family member signs up it can constitute a ban. For those concerned only with the referral program terms they are in section 4 and I've highlighted a few things to note:
4. REFERRAL PROGRAM
4.1. This paragraph is aimed to define the process of providing the User with the rights of enjoyment and gaining commissions from participation in the referral program.
4.2. For the purposes of this section the following are explained:
- Referrer – is the User participating in the referral program and receiving compensation for engagement of every new User;
- Referral – a new User, engaged by a Referrer.
4.3. Every user is entitled to participate in the referral program.
4.4. Each user is provided with a special link indicating its unique ID. All new (unregistered in the system before following the link) Users who used the offered link and went to the website will be automatically marked with a (referral) cookie-record, which will remain active for 30 days.
4.5. New registered user of the website is checked for the referral cookie-record. If the new User was invited by the referral (one of the valid users of RollerCoin), he automatically becomes an indefinite referrer of this User.
4.6. The user will always be provided with an access to his referral statistics, which includes: the number of clicks on one’s referral link, the number of registrations and revenue. The user has the access to the statistics on the page of the referral program inside his account.
4.7. The user (referrer) receives income in accordance with the number of new invited users (referrals) and the current condition of the referral program.
4.8. The referral system is designed only for advertising purposes. Any violations and abuses of the referral system are prohibited, such as:
- Registration of personal accounts using your own referrer link and make in-game purchases on referral accounts to receive commissions.
- Sharing your referral link with family members and roommates to receive commissions on their virtual mining and in-game purchases.
- These violations will lead to the permanent ban of the referrer account.
- In some cases, RollerCoin administration can remove referrals from the referrer account if a violation of the referral system appears.
4.9. The Administration reserves the right to change conditions of the terms of use, access, gaining commissions from the referral program unilaterally without informing the user. The user can read the current conditions of the referral program on the webpage: rollercoin.com/referral. RollerCoin always adds and counts dividends from referral program in accordance with the conditions regarding these matters.
How to Not Get Banned
First, read the terms of service and don't try to cheat the system. If like me, you failed to do that first part then there is a second step you can try to take. I can't tell you how they will treat each individual case but I can tell you about my interactions with them.
If you just realized that you have gone against these terms of service you may have the option to write RollerCoin and ask for you family members profile to not be linked to yours. For reference, a family member and I had to do that and RollerCoin honored it. In our specific case, we had not made any purchases nor had any miners acquired yet. It was simply a game that I thought they would enjoy and an honest mistake.
Hopefully, in the future, this will be made clear on their Referral Info page. As of right now it does not offer a link to the terms of service nor makes mentions of the possibility of being banned for having family members join. In fact, they say:
MORE THAN JUST A GAME:
PLAY AND RECEIVE 25% FROM REFERRALS’ PROFIT
15% FROM IN-GAME PURCHASES
WHAT CAN BE BETTER THAN MINING REAL BITCOINS? GETTING PAID FOR REFERRING YOUR FRIENDS AND OTHER CRYPTO ENTHUSIASTS TO ROLLERCOIN.
And also, "Your referred users will be connected with your account and you will receive a percentage from their profit as long as their accounts are active."
What if my referred user is my spouse or another family member that lives with me? Personally, I find it a bit misleading but I understand that this is one of their ways of preventing fraud and making the game more equitable for all players and I can respect that effort. I would hope that players who innocently had a spouse, or family member sign up will not be banned but rather that RollerCoin sever their connection so the referring account no longer benefits from the other. Additionally, in the future, I would suggest they use the same language across all messaging so that people aren't confused and can't claim to have been confused by the wording.
According to RollerCoin, in this first round of bans, some of the players that were banned were caught registering 10,000+ accounts per day. I'm not sure if we should be calling that greedy, unintelligent, or both? With the increase in fraudulent accounts and cheating taking place, the more challenging it was for legitimate players to try and advance in the game. I for one am happy to see RollerCoin taking this action.
Withdrawal Delays
Due to this ban, those players who have been scamming the system will undoubtedly be flooding the system with withdrawal requests. Since RollerCoin is anticipating this reaction from the community, they have informed the community that there will be a 10 day delay in withdrawals but that they will have it up shortly.
General Updates: FaceBook Log Ins, Crypto Hampster, Rewards for Losing
FaceBook:
Facebook has been having an issue allowing RollerCoin players to log into their accounts. It sounded like the team had been working on a bug fix for a while but to no avail. They had tried to help out the community by offering some raffles for RLT to appease the community but the issue persisted. It sounds like they now have it up and running with no issues.
In a surprise and gesture of gratitude, the RollerCoin Team will be issuing those players who were affected by FaceBook log-ins a unique miner. No additional details about the miner yet but, kudos to the Team, well played!
One final comment here, I would hope that the majority of the community understands that sometimes it takes time to solve all tech issues, it's not an immediate fix and it was clear they were working on it for a while. Also, when there are other stakeholders involved (Facebook) it can be a multifaceted issue. No company wants to lose money on purpose.
Crypto Hamster:
They are working on an update for Crypto Hampster and thank goodness for that. While I get that games are meant to be challenging, I've personally wanted to throw my phone when playing that particular game. It's been the most challenging and the best advice I can share is that there are only 40 games to beat in a 7 day period if you aim to do 5-10 a day you will have 0 issues making it to the end.
The updates to come for crypto hampster will be an added 3 lives as with all other games and slower animation when the Hampster is jumping. Thank you RollerCoin for hearing out the community.
Rewards for Losing:
If you haven't noticed players are no longer able to gain the rewards in games which they have lost in. Here was their messaging to players:
Imagine running the Olympics 🏃♀️
You try hard, run as fast as you can, and boom, you came 4th. The winners of the first three places have got their medals, the cash prize, and fame. Feeling frustrated about losing the Olympics, you return home, open the official social account of Tokyo Olympics 2020, open the comment section and say: “It’s not fair! Your rules sucks! Who cares that I haven’t finished the run on time, I still want my reward!”
Sounds silly, right?Rewards are for the winners! You win the game — you get power, you lose — you try again.
Rewards for losing are not fair!
Rewards for losing will never get back to the game. It is also linked to the future system of drops and also the cheaters!🤬
We will reveal more information about drops and future updates in the next blog post, so you better stay tuned!
While I agree that rewards should be for winning and not for losing, there was a clear lack of transparency that this change was set to take place. Initially, the games allowed players to "gain" the power they made even when they lost. It seemed weird when I noticed it at first but really appreciated it. The fact that there was no announcement detailing this change is what was upsetting to me, not that there was a change. It's understandable to not gain points when you haven't won but the way in which RollerCoin went about removing this or changing this feature is what bothered me. Be transparent about the changes that might bring negative feedback just as you are overly transparent about the changes that bring positive feedback. There is no way to make the whole community happy but so long as you are transparent, it can't be assumed that this was a deliberate act of deception.
Lootboxes:
Lootboxes were a cool addition. Here they did offer transparency and that is very much appreciated. If players take into consideration that The Limited Galaxy Explorer Case 1 is worth 20 RLT and the smallest miner, in that case, is 22,000 GH/s, it is easily seen that this is not a bad deal considering that the most affordable and highest power miner to purchase is the Chupacabra for 17RLT at a power of 14,000 GH/s.
The Limited Halloween Case is also nice. The powers aren't too bad and since it's limited miners, once the market opens there is a chance that you could sell them for more. At least that's what I'm betting on. 50 RLT is a bit steep for me but again, that may be recouped on the market.
Lastly (and this one they are updating), the Lucky 500 RLT will be changed. That one to me was the only one where I saw a gamble that I wasn't willing to take. I might spend 10 RLT and end up with only winning back 3 RLT. the chance of 12 RLT or more was <10% and that wasn't a gamble I would take. It sounds like in the future they will be removing the 500 RLT prize and offer more rewards that exceed the price of the Lootbox. While I'm not sure how they intend to do that and still make a profit on this game, I'll have updates once they drop.

I Purchased a Lootbox
As a fan of RollerCoin, I did purchase the Season 1 pass and played all the way through and weighted my options about purchasing a case. The 20 RLT case made the most sense so I decided to take a gamble. At worst I would be 22,000 GH/s higher in my power. To my surprise and delight, I was awarded the Shifter at 40,000 GH/s. I will probably make another purchase and see what that gets me. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress and if you've purchased a Lootbox, do share what you received!
