Microsoft Crop. is acquiring gaming giant Activision Blizzard Inc. for $69 billion as part of a move to ramp up its gaming and Metaverse plans. Activision Blizzard is home to a long list of iconic gaming franchises such as Call of Duty, Overwatch, Candy Crush, World of Warcraft and Tony Hawk's Pro-Skater. Francis Ngannou is ranked as one of the top mixed martial artists in the world and currently holds the UFC heavyweight title. This week he will be going up against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270, but before we get there Ngannou has announced his latest partnership with CashApp.
"I believe bitcoin can empower people everywhere. So I’m excited to partner with CashApp to take half my #UFC270 purse in bitcoin. I want to make bitcoin more accessible to my fans, so I’m giving out $300K in bitcoin!"
What a guy! Best of luck to both fighters but gotta say I'm probably rooting Francis on this one since he's shilling BTC and he's from Cameroon. Movie theater chain AMC has increasingly leaned into the world of cryptocurrency since the initial meme stock frenzy that sent its share price soaring about this time last year.
