The Republic of Palau announced a partnership with Cryptic Labs. The partnership will create a digital residency program for global citizens to the island nation of Palau. The Republic of Palau announced today its partnership with Cryptic Labs to launch a digital residency program using the latter's Root Name System. Cryptocurrency provider and aggregator Triple A says that almost 1 million people, or roughly 2.4% of Morocco's population, currently own cryptocurrency, according to a Cointelegraph report Tuesday (Jan. 11). The data shows that Morocco is the top country in North Africa in terms of crypto trading, and also in the top 50 holders of cryptocurrency population percentage, ahead of Portugal. The NFT market is hot so far in 2022, with leading marketplace OpenSea on track for a record-setting month of trading volume. However, crypto prices are widely down so far this year, highlighting a growing divergence between the markets. The price correlation between crypto and stock markets is increasing. This poses a risk to countries with heavy crypto adoptions, say three IMF economists.
