
Nonfungible tokens (NFTs) dominated crypto and mainstream media headlines all throughout 2021 as investors who held CryptoPunks and other projects minted prior to 2018 were finally rewarded for their patience. Meanwhile, newer projects like the Bored Ape Yacht Club and Art Blocks Curated saw some of their rarer pieces sell for millions of dollars. Rapper Snoop Dogg tweeted this week that he has been collecting valuable NFTs under the Twitter pseudonym, Cozomo de' Medici. His wallet holds an estimated $17 million worth of Ethereum NFTs, including nine CryptoPunks. Alleged QAnon head Ron Watkins is selling NFTs of screenshots from his now-banned Twitter account. The first Ethereum-based NFT is up for sale on the OpenSea marketplace. Bitcoin adoption is on the rise. Major industries are starting to realize that this is not something that they can overlook and it'll go away. So they are now taking the initiative to incorporate crypto payments onto their services. After making the rounds through legal tender acceptance in El Salvador, bitcoin adoption has now headed into New York.
