Countries in Africa have always been early adopters when it comes to financial technology. Emerging tech has been at the forefront of major solutions across the continent and Cardano has big plans for the region. Billionaire investor Mark Cuban has made an investment in Polygon, a layer 2 Ethereum scaling solution. Cuban confirmed the investment in an email to CoinDesk but would not disclose its size or composition. "I was a Polygon user and find myself using it more and more," Cuban said in an email. OneOf, a new musician-centric NFT platform based on Tezos, will launch in June. The platform will feature NFTs inspired by Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and other popular musicians. Officials within the Biden administration are reportedly studying "gaps" in cryptocurrency regulations following the latest bout of volatility in the market, sending a signal that new rules could soon be proposed. People familiar with the matter informed The Washington Post that White House officials are studying whether digital assets like Bitcoin ( BTC) can be used to finance terrorist activities. The rapidly growing popularity of cryptocurrencies among U.K. citizens has prompted various officials to issue renewed calls for regulations, including Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey who called digital assets "dangerous" yesterday.
