If you are into NFTs and blockchain games, I highly recommend you IMMEDIATELY check out the current whitelisting that is occuring on Colony.Online.  Even if you have no plans on playing the game when it is released, and are only interested in flipping the NFTs- this could be a lucrative prospect.  The floor on their recently released first iteration, Bear Colonist species, is rising incredibly fast on OpenSea.  The second mint is for the Ape Colonist and it is open for whitelisting until 1400 EDT today with minting beginning at 1500 EDT and ending Tuesday 30 August at 1800 EDT.  The Bear Colonists sold out in 29 hours, so expect people to go Ape-poop over the Ape Colonists as well.

I'm pushing this article as quickly as I can to get the opportunity for whitelist to as many readers, so I apologize in advance for the article's brevity and any typos/errors. 

So stop what you are doing, go check them out on twitter, discord, and get whitelisted as quickly as possible so you have a chance at the mint if you choose to participate.  Then come back and read more...I'll wait.  

The Game

Colony Online is a planned AAA-level Ethereum based MMO set in an alt-universe where five species of intelligent animals live, work, and play on the moon.  It is currently still in development and will most likely see a 2022 release.  

From the creators:

Colony Online is a social MMO (Metaverse) on the blockchain where all playable characters and in-game cosmetic items are NFTs.

The game takes place on an alternate-reality Moon Colony, where a society of randomly generated space animals (called Colonists) have colonized the moon and turned it into their very own social playground for chic materialism, party lifestyle, and moon mining.

This world will have its very own cryptocurrency to fuel an economy of in-game item ownership on the blockchain.

There still isn't a ton of information regarding the game but much more can be gleaned from their discord.  Here's a look at their Roadmap:

The NFTs

There will be 25000 total ERC-721 Colonist tokens on Ethereum.  There are 5 different Colonist species with 5000 (hardcapped) NFTs in each collection including Bear, Ape, Cat, Duck, and Dog.  The Colonists are "unique programmatically generated space animals that are redeemable for their in-game playable character and cosmetic items in [the] upcoming MMO on the blockchain. 

Incentives for Early Adopters

As a Colonist owner you will have early access to the game including special NFTs and rare in-game items that will not be released later.  You will also have access to the members-only discord rooms and "Airdrops, trait re-rolling, access to a members-only e-commerce store, and more..."

Good Luck on Your Mint

This seems like it could be big with the traction it is gaining. Even if you're only trying to resell some NFTs, this could be a quick turnover.  Personally, if the game comes to fruition I think it could be a good one because it has a healthy community supporting it.  So if you haven't already, go get whitelisted quickly and then look into the project a bit more to decide if it works for you!
