Bitcoin Continues To Be The Preferred Of The 'crypto Whales' With More Than 400 Thousand Btc Transferred In June

New research carried out with the data shown by Whale-Alert and Bitcoin Block Bot during the month of June 2020, showed that BTC is still the cryptocurrency of choice for crypto whales.

According to the numbers stacked since the alerts issued of high cryptocurrency transactions in the 'crypto verse', Bitcoin remains the king not only in the general market ranking, but also in terms of number of transactions reported by the big known actors like 'Crypto Whales' or Crypto Whales.

The first data shows that Bitcoin was mobilized during the period from June 01 to 30 on 98 occasions, with more than 400,000 BTC transferred between different anonymous addresses and some important exchanges such as Binance, Huobi and Bittrex Exchange.

The data indicate that whales in general made 334 transactions in 26 crypto assets in the market during the period studied, for a global amount of just over USD 8.315 million in the 14.25 billion cryptocurrencies transferred.

In second place is the stablecoin USDT, which was the subject of 66 transactions by the whales, of which it is worth noting that the vast majority was injected into important exchanges such as Binance from the Tether treasury as reported by Whale two days ago. Alert.

Third place is completed by the most important altcoin into the market, Ethereum -ETH- with some 28 transactions reported by the largest players in the market, with the notable exception that on June 24 the transfer of Plus Token was reported by the important sum of 789,533 ETH.

In addition, at the end of June, Ethereum also had notable activity when 2 major transfers between wallets from unknown addresses for the sum of 406,587 ETH was released by the cryptocurrency transaction analysis and monitoring firm.

Cryptocurrencies that also obtained a significant frequency of transfers between different unknown wallets include Basic Attention Token (BAT) with 27 opportunities and Ripple's XRP token with 25 times, closing the top 5 most outstanding in this line.

The rest of the assets with notable transactions included EOS, USDC and 0x with more than a dozen transfers, and some projects like Maker and Cosmos with 08 Tx each.

The remainder was occasionally mobilized on less than four occasions.

Bitcoin whales mobilized almost half a million BTC

The analysis of the data of the transactions of the "Bitcoin Whales" indicate that some 446,307 BTC were transferred by the great influences in the market, worth more than USD 4,301 million in the month of June alone.

The distribution of cryptocurrency transactions in the past month also reflects that Tether's stablecoin -USDT- coincides as the second currency with the highest amount of fiat money moved by whales, with a sum of around USD 1.32 billion.

Ethereum is also seen as the most important altcoin mobilized with just over 811 million dollars, although with the exception that a large part of these funds correspond to the Plus Token ponzi scheme, as indicated above.

In fourth place and no less important is Ripple's XRP token, with around 730 million dollars, in 25 transactions involved.

It should be noted that it must be taken into account that the Ripple OTC wallet is the main responsible for these movements, with its customary transactions of approximately 1 million XRP tokens that are transferred monthly by the company, as happened on June 9.

Only four more cryptocurrencies reflect transactions exceeding hundreds of millions of dollars: USDC, FTX Token, EOS and BAT. The rest report numbers below USD 50 million in the total of the transfers reported by Whale-Alert in June.

Only four days in June without moving Bitcoin

The specific data on the actions of the whales on Bitcoin indicate that the activity was almost constant throughout the month of June, with transfers between wallets for amounts greater than ten million dollars.

The reports reflect that only on four specific dates last month there was no activity on the market leading cryptocurrency by BTC whales: June 07, 13, 20 and 28. The rest of the month, at least 1 transaction was made by these actors.

More importantly, it is the data that reflects June 19 and 27 as the most important dates in terms of movements, both in units and in millions of dollars.

On June 19, 06 transactions were recorded for 91,356 BTC, an approximate value for that time of just over 850 million dollars.

As of June 27, it was the date where the largest amount of coins was mobilized by the whales, with a 2 transactions that accounted for 106,857 BTC (+979 mm USD).

In these two days alone, the Bitcoin whales mobilized 44.4% of the total BTC transferred in the month of June.

However, it should be mentioned that June 05 and 24 were the dates where the highest frequency of transactions occurred by Bitcoin whales, with a total of 23 transfers between the two days, 23.5% of the total reported in June.

Bullish or bearish?

A curious fact that can be observed from this data is that the price of Bitcoin has had a casual behavior with the performance of the 'crypto whales'.

On three occasions, the price was pushed to extreme volatility, which undoubtedly meant a period of accumulation opportunities for these actors.

Already in the past we have reviewed how the whales act on Bitcoin and its possible consequences of their actions in the performance of the most important asset in the market.

This time, in the past month of June, such behavior has been highlighted once again. Hence the importance of these actors on the crypto space and their attention on their activities on Bitcoin and the rest of the market.

From the previous graph we can point out two important aspects: BTC whales have more influence in the market when they are more frequent in a day, beyond the astronomical sums that they can generate in a single transaction such as that of June 27.

This is why we note that periods like June 24 with 12 transactions are quite eloquent of what they can achieve on the price of Bitcoin, coincidental or not.

On the other hand, and in line with the latest Glassnode report, whales continue to accumulate more Bitcoin and also diversify their universe within the crypto scene. It is evident that with each volatility of the Bitcoin price that recurrently coincides with the actions of these actors, new purses with high amounts of BTC are generated by the market opportunity that is generated after its 'surge'.
