Impressionable Experiences: Seeking The Inner Spirit: Blues At The Crossroads

Impressionable Experiences

Seeking The Inner Spirit

"Blues At The Crossroads"

2000

As I approach the crossroads

of the Sunset and Larabee

I travel to the agency

With only poor money

I climb the steep incline

So out of shape I have become

To my left is the Viper

And to my right

The old harmonica man

Expressing the familiar blues

He minds his ways

So I pass by

And then I cross the roads.

Hope fills my heart

On the other side

And as I return

There is little more

than sixteen in cash

a one in my pocket

This must last for three days

It shall buy that Big Mac

That horrid yet thankful nourishment

Yet there he is again

Reaching out as I reach within

Surprised by my four silver

He embraces my soul

Appreciating, what I do not yet know

With one line and one tune

He plays to my spirit

Promising that more shall be written

Of the song he sings to me

The simple blues as I journey down the road.
