"Walking To The Podium"

Oh happy poets,
how prideful you are,
for today is your day,
to share who you are.
Every soul filled with glee,
for we all feel so free,
it is the first time,
we are welcomed by the chimes.
The young and the old,
The rich and the poor,
The black and the white,
All have felt their strife.
We share together,
more than birds of a feather,
As we enjoy this weather,
Applause follows these glowing spirits.
