Sade Sati. Is it true, and how I survived this period of my life

According to Vedic astrology, this is the most challenging period of life, lasting 7.5 years ("Sade Sati" literally translates to "seven and a half"). It’s a time when Saturn, the planet of karma, transits the house of our natal Moon (plus the two adjacent houses). During this period, we face a pile of trials and losses.

I’ve been living through my Sade Sati for the past 7.5 years, and according to my natal chart, it ends tomorrow, March 29, 2025 (which is additionally interesting because it coincides with the end of the Eclipse Corridor and the arrival of a solar eclipse). It’s just like the saying, "The darkest night is before the dawn."

Unfortunately, just a week ago, I didn’t know about this, as I’d been interested in Western astrology all these years, not Vedic. It was only a week ago, during a conversation with a friend, that I mentioned how the last 7 years have felt tough for me—almost like the biblical story of the "seven lean years" that Joseph foretold for Pharaoh. It’s strange because the previous 7 years were much more successful for me; people often said I "made money out of thin air, no matter what I touched." But the next 7 years brought me significant financial losses, and no matter how much I developed or how hard I worked, I couldn’t earn decent money anymore (only enough to scrape by). Beyond finances, I lost the woman I loved, my father, friends, and even—quite literally, physically—my brother and uncle (they were killed by Russians). My father simply fled abroad at the start of the war, abandoning my mother to my care.

After these personal reflections about the "seven lean years," just a couple of days later, I stumbled across information about Sade Sati. This happens to me often: if I think or speak about something with strong emotion, soon enough, more detailed info and signs about it show up in reality. I must be deeply connected to the currents of creativity, and they hold the keys to everything.

I had to revisit my natal chart, this time through the lens of Vedic astrology. And it turned out I’ve indeed been living through Sade Sati these past 7.5 years—but thankfully, it’s almost over. After yesterday’s transit of Lilith into Scorpio, which already promises me 9 successful months, and now the end of Sade Sati too! Without a doubt, these kinds of cosmic forecasts add at least a few points of positivity and hope for my future.

On average, a person experiences Sade Sati three times in their life, and during the third Sade Sati, many people pass away. My third Sade Sati will come in about 22.5 years—roughly when (if) I hit ~64.

For example: in Vedic astrology, my Moon is in Capricorn. My Sade Sati took place when Saturn passed through Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius. Sade Sati is divided into three sub-phases of 2.5 years each, with the second phase (the central one, when Saturn is in the sign of your natal Moon) considered the most difficult.

After an experience like this, it’s hard not to believe in astrology. Especially considering that for all 7 years, I knew nothing about Sade Sati, had no preconceived notion that it was supposed to happen, and didn’t set myself up for negativity. But now I see that my natal chart has proven itself and "worked itself out," so I have a positive bias that my life will start turning for the better again.

Meanwhile, it seems Elon Musk’s Sade Sati is just beginning. People are drawing SpaceX rockets on Teslas to morally support him (so sweet!).
