I guess I'm a farmer now. I made my first sale from stuff I grew in the garden. It certainly wasn't much but it gave me great satisfaction and is motivating me to do more.
I had a surplus of avocados and turmeric which in Hawai'i we call 'olena. I use the Facebook marketplace platform to advertise my goods as well as some other online venues. I've gotten quite a few bites but so far only two sales. I've sold a total of two and a half pounds of turmeric and nine avocados Again not much but this little bit is very encouraging.

Again, it's not much but all my sales combined over the day equals $33. And all off of food that I would have forced myself to use eventually but was fresh and surplus at the moment.
I'm using Facebook Craigslist and next door to advertise my stuff. And so far the Facebook marketplace has yielded me the most traffic. I've had lots of inquiries and a few more set up to pick up later this week. My two customers have been very happy with my product and in turn I am very proud of what I have done.
Turmeric is great for cooking with it adds great flavor and color to your dishes. It is also extremely healthy by helping people with inflammation and it is an antioxidant. The avocados are yummy and great for guacamole, of course. These are a special winter variety. So when many avocado trees this time of year are bare, my tree is full.
I hope to do a lot more selling of my produce. I have a lot of things around the yard which may be sought after. I have nutmeg, cloves, hearts of palm, lychee, citrus and a plethora of ornamental plants like red ti and rare palms. I will also dehydrate fruits like banana.
