In the world of digital microtasks and micro income, the vast majority of apps that promise passive earnings by selling bandwidth or data turn out to be less than transparent or risky for the security of their IP. The only real institutional exception is represented by Nielse, a global market research giant.

How do you make money with Nielsen?
1. The 100% passive method: Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel
You install mobile app and/or extension on PC.
On mobile, it creates a local monitoring VPN, without acting as a proxy for third parties and redistributing internet traffic externally. It only records sites visited, times spent and apps used in an aggregate manner.
By keeping the app active on mobile and/or PC you accumulate points and usually earn €30 a year with one device, €60 with two, without taking any action (on mobile every now and then, just open the app to restart the VPN).
The points can be redeemed for shopping vouchers at Amazon and others, or PayPal.
2. NielsenIQ Panel Families: Expenditure Scanning
You take a photo of the barcodes of the products purchased at the supermarket and upload photos of the receipts.
The profit is around €10/20 per month in shopping vouchers
Advantages
Payments are guaranteed by a solid corporate entity that has been certified for decades, there are no risks for the home network (not like Honeygain or others), as the IP address is never shared with strangers, eliminating the risk of blacklists or captcha while browsing.
Risks
Nielsen claims to anonymize data and does not record banking credentials, passwords or chat contents, but the software still monitors web history and app use.
Battery consumption increases and performance is not as high.
Ideal setup
To maximize the performance of the Panel without giving up the history of your primary phone, I recommend using a secondary smartphone connected to the home WI-FI, leaving it turned on and connected. If possible, same thing with secondary PC.
