Microstrategy doubles its commitment to Bitcoin: the company led by Michael Saylor announced the purchase of a further 12,289 BTC for a value of approximately 648 million dollars which add up to a total of 205,101 BTC held, approximately 3 billion dollars.
But not only that, MicroStrategy has announced its intention to offer the market new senior convertible notes maturing in 2031 for a total of $500 million. Proceeds from the offering will be used to acquire additional Bitcoin, strengthening the company's cryptocurrency-focused treasury strategy.
Coinbase is joining the party by announcing a $1 billion private offering of convertible senior notes due in 2030. Similar to MicroStrategy, the offering is aimed at qualified institutional investors.
News that suggests a great injection of confidence in the market that contributes to supporting the growth of the price of Bitcoin and strengthening its institutional adoption.
MicroStrategy has demonstrated an unwavering belief in the value of Bitcoin over the years, even during periods of market volatility.
What transpires, even from Coinbase, is a growing institutional interest in exploring and investing in the world of cryptocurrencies.
Looking ahead, the moves of these two players could have a domino effect, encouraging other institutional investors to explore this sector. Increased capital and adoption by major players could help solidify Bitcoin's role as an asset class and pave the way for long-term growth.
