According to sources within the SEC, as specified by Barron's, agency officials have had contact with the exchanges where the new ETFs will be listed and the feedback on the requests has been positive. The changes requested from potential issuers are minimal and could be finalized in a short time.
The rumors also suggest that the approval could affect all applicants, not just those with the closest deadlines. This approach, similar to that adopted for Bitcoin, could facilitate a coordinated launch of ETFs by all issuers.
It goes without saying that the impact will be significant on the crypto market which has already had notable inflows and consequent exponential increase in the price of cryptocurrencies in recent days.
Institutional investors, such as pension funds and hedge funds, will have direct access to Ethereum, facilitating investment in the token without the need for derivative products.
