In a February 18th, Reddit AMA, Ethereum founder and his core team revealed there cryptocurrency holdings (other than Ethereum of course). So, what exactly does Ethereum’s outspoken leader have in his portfolio? Let’s take a look.

For starters, the Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) was dedicated to Ethereum accountability and leadership, and proffered to increase transparency in the team, while ensuring no egregious conflicts of interest existed for the team.

In Buterin’s response, he noted that his non-Ethereum holdings included Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin (BTC), Zcash (ZEC), Dogecoin (DOGE) were all in his portfolio. However, the above coins were estimated to be less than 10% of the value of his ETH. Vitalik shared his Ethereum ecosystem tokens as well, which include Kyber Network (KNC), Maker (MKR), OmiseGO (OMG), and Augur (REP), which also account for less than 10% of the value of his Ethereum. Do note that while he only listed four ERC-20 tokens in his AMA response, there are more than a handful of other tokens, which have presumably been airdropped (ex. ELEC was airdropped for OmiseGO holders).    

And, if you’re wondering what corporate shareholdings Vitalik boasts, he listed those too, which were only Clearmatics, a London-based blockchain research and development firm, and Starkware, a blockchain service geared towards improving scalability and privacy in blockchains by utilizing STARK technology. Finally, he divulged that there were several non-token non-Ethereum organizations he was apart of - mainly professional cryptography and economics circles.

Other Ethereum ecosystem members, developers, and researchers came forth with their holdings, with Justin Drake (Ethereum researcher) acknowledging 99% of his holdings are in ETH, and that he has “close to zero fiat.” Ethereum security lead, Martin Swende, revealed that 95-99% of his cryptocurrency holdings are in Ethereum, and the rest were in Zcash (ZEC), Bitcoin (BTC), Sia (SIA), “some ETH-tokens.”
