Blockchain capability #3: Banks for everyone

Problem:

Is it easy to open a bank account? A regular ordinary bank account? And what problems come when you're using it?

First of all, you have to be a legal resident of a country. Then you have to be of legal age. Also, you better not have any prior troubles with the law. And sometimes you even need to have some source of income to be able to at least pay for credit card services.

Then you have to come to the bank office, bring some papers, fill in some forms and contracts, and then wait for uncertain time to either get approved or not. And if you're not approved, what's next? Go to the next bank until you find a one that wants to deal with you. And in this case, I assume it's not the best one.

But what if you move to another country? Before you get settled and have all the paperwork done, you're basically left unbanked. Of course, you probably have a visa card that you got from your country's bank. However, every time you make a transaction, you pay a conversion fee for the currency exchange.

And what about countries where the bank system is not well developed or even absent? People have to use cash there. And they deal with this inconvenience. They stuff their pockets with paper banknotes, especially in places with high inflation.

And then there come privacy issues when banks abuse the personal data you give them. Lastly, they may freeze all your assets by a court's decision or if they think there's suspicious activity in your account. Not a good finale for you if you keep all of your savings in one place.

Solution:

Using distributed public ledgers, i.e. blockchain, helps to solve all of the aforementioned problems with the regular banks.

We don't need any central authority anymore, that decides whether you can or can not use digital money. We don't need to go through all this bureaucracy paperwork to finally get access to the service. Everyone can just download any crypto wallet on the phone, generate an address in a second, and start sending and receiving funds immediately.

Now you are your own bank. No one can remove or freeze your assets. No more privacy concerns, because blockchain is decentralized and transparent. But of course, with great power comes great responsibility. Keep your private key and its recovery phrase in a safe place, cause this is the only possible way to access your funds on the blockchain. Otherwise, your money will be lost forever.
