Upland: Real Estate simulation with the tokenization

I am a loyal Brave Browser user and a few months ago I saw the advertisement of Upland with a nice llama in the logo. I love the llama animal, maybe because I was grown up with the idea that llama spite to people they feel uncomfortable with.

I gave a look and I discovered a great game that simulates in a really easy way the Real Estate business. Of course there are many simplification but I really appreciated the way they created to let people get in touch with tokenization.

Upland is a game where for free you can start playing and buying/selling properties and you will pay with real tokens. I decided to buy UPX for an equivalent of 5 dollars to speed up the starting phases of the game.

What if we call it a Initial Gamified Token Offering?

You purchase a little amount of tokens and you are ready to trade properties.

Every property is unique, in line with what I said a few days ago about NFT and their application for non-changeable items. So, every property is unique and can be sold or purchased with the UPX tokens. You can go from two or three thousands of tokens to up some million tokens.

San Francisco had been the first tokenized city that allowed trading of properties and they have now expanded to New York.

In a single game, collecting money for the eventual ICO, teaching people how NFT works and how tokenization for real estate would work they are bringing massive value to the market, even if they are still acting with a low profile, working to build and consolidate their community.

The value of the streets where you buy properties is fixed by the issuer (Upland). Free properties are in light green. Dark green are properties on sale, where the owner has fixed a price at which it will sell the property. Light blue properties are properties owned by someone that has not yet expressly a certain amount for selling it.

Round symbols in the picture are players. The orange (with the whale) is mine, the two others are other players.

This area from the picture is almost already full bought and only one property is free for purchase. In some areas you will find far more space to buy freely from the market and not from other players to avoid also the trading fee, that you pay to Upland when you buy/sell from/to other players. By buying in this area you will also get the chance of seeing a great increase in price, creating a virtual capital gain, buying more properties with a unique sale.

Every property you own gives you a rent fee that is calculated every three hours. When you buy from the free market, the yield is standardized while by buying from other players you may eventually encounter better opportunities.

Every purchase of property is recorded on the EOS Blockchain, and when you will buy a property you will receive an email confirming your acquirement, including the hash of the transaction that contains your transaction.

If you want to join the game, you will get some benefits by using the referral link of an already existing player. Here you have mine (https://r.upland.me/NkNT)

Tokenization has never been so simple and cheap to be understood.

What is the most strange things you think will be difficult to tokenize?

How do you rate this article?
