The lifeblood of the Blockchain

The lifeblood of the Blockchain

The blockchain, public and decentralized, certifies data as it cannot be altered by anyone.

But are the data recorded true to therefore certify a supply chain?

To achieve this, 3 points must be well defined on which to intervene.

- Ownership of the data;

- Tampering with data;

- The acquisition of data.

The ownership of data can be certified by assigning a private key and a 2-factor confirmation: in this way we are sure that the identity of the producer has not been falsified.

Tampering with data can be prevented by applying a Secure Boot blocked in the data recording device, so that not even the manufacturer can intervene in the modification of the acquisition software.

As far as data retrieval is concerned, the procedure is complicated as the detection sensors can be tampered with by the operator; therefore a process dedicated to the construction of the sensors is required in order that they cannot be modified.

For example, multiple sensors that read the same data to exclude that a sensor may send a data outside a trustworthy range.

Providing reliable data to the Blockchain becomes a priority issue and must be essential in order to have a real (and trustable) certification.
