What is Minds?
Minds is a 3.0 social media, like Steemit, Narrative or Hyperspace, that rewards user by their activities. Members can earn tokens in exchange for interacting with the site and creating content. The platform looks a bit to Facebook and have some interesting features.
It takes censorship resistance seriously. It was created with the intent that no legally protected speech would be censored or subverted and it does not engage in active user tracking or in selling personal data to advertisers.
The Minds token
The minds token is an utility token to fuel rewards, advertising and p2p content subscriptions on Minds. You can use it to pay subscriptions, to unlock content that is locked by a given amount. You can use it to promote your content to the full network or a specific channel’s audience (1 token = 1000 views). You can send tokens to other channels as a tip or in exchange for content subscriptions or custom rewards. You can unlock premium features for your channel. So as you can see there are a lot of use cases for the Minds token.
How to earn tokens?
You can earn by writing content, like or dislike something, voting. You can receive tokens from someone that follows you. You can share other posts like facebook feature. And even by logging into it you can receive minds tokens.
Rewards are determined in this way: Each action that you make on the site is worth a different number of points. These points are then added up to your daily contribution total. Simple actions like checking your feed or uploading something are only worth a small amount of points. Conversely, contributing content like sharing a link or writing a blog post are worth more.
At the end of each day, everyone’s point totals are added up and you are given a percentage based on the total number of points that you earned in comparison to everyone else on the site. Then, you will be given a daily token payout that is equal to the total amount given out to the network each day divided by the percentage of points that you contributed.
