An exciting few days for the Solana NFT community have passed. The Degenerate Trading Bears (DTB) collection has recently made its roaring entrance into the blockchain wilderness! 
This unique collection consists of 4,269 NFT tokens, each representing a customizable bear. The bears have quickly become a talking point amongst NFT collectors thanks to the innovative features of the BOOTS V2 platform, which also created an engaging and interactive experience for the users during the unwrapping of their DTB packs.
An Unbearable Arrival
Following a presale of 3,799 NFTs at a price of 2 SOL each on July 31, 2023, the DTB team kept 470 for a white list and made the rest available for a public sale, The strong demand from the community ensured the public mint sold out rapidly – in less than half an hour, confirming the success of the collection’ launch.
An embrace of advanced technology
The launch also marked the debut of the BOOTS V2 platform facilitating the trading and customization of the NFTs from the collection along with its traits. In the initial phase the DTB team worked hand-in-hand with the BOOTS team to ensure the seamless integration of the NFTs into the platform. Eager to explore the new collection, users were quick to jump to the new BOOTS platform unwrap their DTB pack and start customizing their NFTs and trade traits from the collection. Each DTB pack contained one bear and five cards – either traits or points – referring to an upcoming utility feature.
Collectors had the chance to obtain 15 out of 30 available outfits during the minting event, with additional outfits set to be minted in the future, introducing an element of suspense and excitement to the bear-customization journey.
Some are speculating the remaining outfits will be dropped via the points cards collected during the unwrapping of the bears packs on the BOOTS platform.
Speaking of the Degenerate Trading Bears NFT collection, each bear in it is not just an NFT but a canvas for creativity. Owners have the privilege to not just personalize their bears, but apparently personalize the personalization of their personalized bears, as BOOTS just released a feature called “Variants” which will soon be loaded with various possibilities for the creative minds.
Building the DTB Ecosystem
The DTB team, following the successful minting event, focused on enhancing the user experience and interaction within the bear ecosystem. Recognizing the value of surprise, an 'unwrapped pack NFT' appeared in the users' wallets after opening a DTB pack, a special treat from the BOOTS team.
Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, users finding empty trait slots upon opening their packs discovered an added bonus - a 420 points card. Soon to be redeemable on user profiles, these points add a competitive edge to the bear ecosystem, helping users climb up the monthly points leaderboards.
The monthly points leaderboards could also be accessed through holding NFTs from the collection with high ranks – Starting from Rarity Rank 1, which brings its holder 4,269 points, every next one from the list brings its holder 1 point less than that up until the last 420 NFTs from the collection which will bear their owners 420 points.
In addition to these interactive elements, the DTB team showed commitment to transparent and direct communication with the community. An AMA session was announced to address users' curiosity about bear traits, trading, and point cards. Intrigue was further stirred with a hint towards a surprise collaboration.
The latest development from the team is a major website update that introduces an on-chain live data rarity checker and the first bear-focused leaderboard. This reliable tool, connected directly to the BOOTS platform, provides real-time insights into each bear's rarity.
