I was near the place where I found nice quartz a few months ago so I decided to go and see if the huge white quartz rock was there cause last time I noticed people were taking chunks of the stone.... it is gone already! So, no white quartz... but many huge rocks... and I did the logical thing: start taking pics of the rocks and guess what I found? More quartz!
I started inspecting each of the stones at the bay and all of them had quartz and crystals. At plain sight they looked like normal beach stones but nope, they are all filled with shiny goodies.
I was in a bit of a hurry, so I just took pics of 2 stones. One had pink crystals and the other one white one.
While I was playing "quartz hunter" an old man approached me and asked me if I needed any help, I guess he never saw someone so interested in a rock... He told me all the big stones at the bay were brought many years ago cause the mayor wanted to somehow make a barrier to keep the sea water contained.
He also told me how people used to get the crystals out of the stones and let me tell you something, its quite simple! The old man told me people take large aluminum sheets (we call them here zines) and make a type of homemade open oven, then throw charcoal inside and make fire. When its hot you have to put the stone inside (be careful, don't get burned) and then throw water to the stone. He said that will make the rock easy to break and take the crystal out. Easy right?!
Im planning to go again there but with a chisel and a hammer to take a chunk of quartz. So far I had seen there white, yellow and pink crystals, I hope I can find other types!
