Momma hen was teaching her kiddos to look for worms. She was very serious about it while the chickens were exploring everything. When she saw me she opened her wings like protecting her kids and she kept doing it until they were away from my reach.
This time only 3 chickens were around. They were 4 but there are too many stray cats in the neighborhood and most of the times only 1 chicken survive. Sometimes not even momma hen survive the cats attack. There used to be lots of poultry roaming the neighborhood but now there's only a few.
I hope this chickens survive and grow healthy, even tho they destroy my yard I really hope they can have a long life. The cats just like to kill them, they don't even eat them. Also makes me wonder why the heck the neighborhood is filled with so many cats suddenly. Its like a cyclic thing, one year there's a bunch of cats, next year cats are gone and stray dogs terrorize the zone destroying all in their path, the next year no cats or dogs but many iguanas and all types of birds... Is like they take turns to be around...
