What just happened with UST is a disgrace. Something that shouldn't have happened just happened. You can bet your last hard-earned penny that this will be used by crypto critics to slam stablecoins as well.
"There's nothing stable about them", I hear them crying.
I own UST, fortunately not a life-changing amount otherwise I'd probably be angry AF, DAI and USD and that's it. That's because 93.78% of what I own is in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the rudder, the engine, the steam of the crypto world. When it goes down, everything else goes down. When it goes up, everything else goes up.
So many call Bitcoin risky, and I get that, but a lot of people, and not just newbies, somehow still call it "unpredictable" but if there's one thing you can be sure about Bitcoin is it'll go up after it went down, and it'll go down after it went up.
The reason why we're not all rich is it's nigh on impossible to determine when it will do what.
Bitcoin has been around since 2009 and following an initial fermentation period (this is a nice analogy, btw, I should use it again in the future), its trajectory became very clear, detectable, simple.
It goes up, people FOMO, it keeps going up, something happens, it crashes 50% of more, it goes down a bit more, and then it goes up again.
Rinse & repeat.
Bitcoin is trying to get back on track and break $32,000 as we speak and it will do that. It'll get to 35k right after. Then $38k. Then $45k.
Will it? 100%. When? No one knows.
But there's no reason to get scared. Buy more if you can. Or don't, if you can't. Just don't be scared, otherwise you may be in the wrong space.
