Telegram's Pavel Durov says they've been disclosing users' IPs for years

As it turns out, Telegram has actually been disclosing users' IP for years.

According to Pavel Durov, co-founder and 'face' of Telegram, the social messaging app has been sharing IPs with the authorities "long before last week", as early as 2018.

Telegram and Durov himself have been under fire in recent weeks.

Telegram was accused of aiding and abetting illegal activities on the app by refusing to share relevant information with the authorities and, as a result, Durov was arrested in France a couple of weeks ago.

Telegram said they'll now be collaborating with relevant authorities a bit more frequently but, clearly, they've already been doing that for years.
