How much would you pay for a Champagne bottle with Bored Ape Yacht Club drawings on it?

Two crazy and crazy-rich Italians just spent 2.5 million dollars for a bottle of Avenue Foch Champagne.

I used the word ‘crazy’ twice in that sentence but there’s nothing particularly unusual about spending 7-figure sums on spirits or fine wines. That happens more or less all the time. What makes this different, you already know, is the fact that NFTs are involved.

The bottle is decorated with five drawings by Mig, the mythological, legendary, iconic, emblematic artist behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Ta-tan!

Anyway, it’s unclear whether actual NFTs are involved but it seems not. It seems the mega-high price is just due to the fact that the artist personally drew Bored Apes on the bottle.

Plus the wine is indeed special, a limited-edition Champagne made in Chamery (a stone’s throw from the city of Reims, 150 miles north-east of Paris) with a blend of Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay grapes.

What do you think, is it a good investment?
