I’ve used a variety of apps that pay you for walking, including Walk & Earn (meh), sMiles (meh), Sweatcoin (fun, but a bit meh) and Young Step which, in my view, is the best app by a [walking] distance. And I’ll give you three reasons why:

1. It offers in-app integration with an exchange

You get paid in ‘YOUNG’, a stable token (1YOUNG:$0.24) and in order to claim your YOUNG (the minimum is 45), you have to download YOUNG Platform, which is essentially an exchange, and get verified. It’s fast and easy, the only pre-requisite is that you top up your account (min €20), but that’s okay because that’s your money, you can, should you choose to, top up your account, claim your YOUNG, exchange your YOUNG for euros, dollars, or any cryptocurrency supported by the app and send it somewhere else, like Coinbase or Binance. Or even your private wallet, of course.

Or you can use the exchange, which is what I’m doing, I’ve bought some UNISWAP and some POLKADOT.

2. It’s the only app where I actually made money

I tend to walk a lot, about 10,000 steps every day, and so far that made me 93 cents (yes.) on Walk & Earn (it’s a terrible app, isn’t it?), about 430 Sweatcoins and 55 YOUNG. The minimum threshold is 45 YOUNG, which means I actually did male some cash.

I won’t get rich doing this, but I consider it a steady income that I invest into cryptos I believe in. If I’d invested the equivalent of 10-15 dollars in bitcoin every month for the last 4-5 years, well… but I digress.

3. It’s fun

There are four ways to earn YOUNG. You can do it by ‘claiming’ your steps, you can do this up to 10 times every day, up to 20,000 steps every day.

You can also earn YOUNG by taking part in ‘rankings’, which are basically races (as in, who claims the most steps), by correctly predicting the price of different cryptocurrencies (for the next 3, 6 and 12 hours).

And you can do it by correctly answering questions in quizzes. New quizzes are added on a weekly basis.
