Stranger Things Season 3... so what do you think?

July the 4th saw the start of season 3 of Stranger Things. I had been gagging for another season as the credits started rolling on the last episode on season 2. The wait was painful.

So far, I have watched 2 episodes and the Duffer Brothers have not disappointed so far. The wonderful cast are all present and correct and I love the way Jim Hopper (David Harbour) has, well aged a bit, spread out in mid rift, in sync with Eleven/Jane (Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the gang developing through their period of puberty.

At Ep2 the storyline has not really been fully set loose I feel. Please no spoilers!!! What has been set loose is the homage to the 80's. The production team and designers have gone hell for leather here. Seeing the fashion, the tech, and hearing the music in that context is wonderful but I can't help feel it's too much. Everything 80's has been condensed into that mall.

The new social trend at the time of going to the mall and of course the inevitable devistation is an interesting observation to express and I have a feeling that there is a real reason for this, not just a nostalgic regret for what was lost.

Tonight I watch 2 maybe 3 more....
