Portugal:

Things that in my opinion absolutely don’t work:

first of all be careful about the cost of living in general, Portugal in 2024 in August when I’m writing is generally expensive unless you decide to go on vacation and stay closed in cramped hotels. I have been to Lisbon, Porto, Evora and Faro.
Lisbon can be freely traveled with the card they have, buses pass very often and this is really great for those like us who want to travel a lot and not with the car, which we had and using it was a struggle. Parking in Portugal doesn’t exist, as well as roundabouts I counted a maximum of ten in the whole holiday, so U-turns become difficult. You go round and round for the few parking lots that are offered and often they are either full or the costs are exorbitant such as a night around 18€, absurd!!This second aspect in my opinion is very negative.

Evora: in my opinion a tap that everyone can skip, it’s a small city and all is concentrate and not so far long. But ad exception the Capel dos Ossos, small church but interesting, it is a small city with nothing else. Boring, so boring. 

Last but not least is to be careful of the “tourist-trap” things around seaside places like Faro, with Getyourguide we bought tickets for a cruise to the Benagil’s caves, a total disappointment considering that the price was increased by 4€ per person at the time of payment without explanation and the promised swim wasn’t done, plus the famous cave sponsored by Microsoft is nothing special. The night on Faro (three person, four night) cost us plus 600€ for an hostel not so good, price very expensive. 

in short, among all the destinations I've seen, Portugal is considered to be just average, nothing so interesting that it can be remembered in one trip.

P.S. the port wine is amazing, you can see they know how to do it well. like the Pastel de Nada that you can't miss trying once in the capital
