I have been so upset about something that I can’t even summon the words to pray at times. When I try to talk to God about it, my emotions get the better of me and I’m just too choked up for the words to come up and tears gush out instead.
What happens? Do you think God hears, do you think he sees and responds? You don’t have to have polished prayers to get God’s attention. We don’t have to be articulate to get our prayer to be powerful. God hears us even when our words are inaudible. You can talk to Him right from your heart in silence.
And that is because he sees beyond our words and into our very hearts. He knows our pain before our first tears fall and what’s even more incredible is that His love compels Him to respond to us. So find comfort in knowing that even when your tears drown out your words, God still hears and responds.
“Dear God, sometimes I just can’t get my words to say what my heart feels. Thank you for reminding me that you hear me even when I can’t speak. Thank you for seeing beyond my words and for understanding how I feel even better than I do. Most of all God, thank you for caring enough to respond when you know I’m hurting.”
Remember to cast your burdens onto God and not to deal with them by yourself. God wants you to do this so that your relationship and faith to Him deepens. Trust in Him. He is our Refuge.
