Below is a portion of my response to a logophobe who tried to shame someone for liking Ahegao. When I pointed out where she was wrong, she tried (and failed) to convincingly argue that words don't mean what their dictionary definitions state that they do. (That's not exactly what she wrote, but that's the gist of the crap she pulled out her arse and threw out like a demented chimpanzee.) She's behaved in a similar way at least twice before that that I've seen, one of which being about/over the definition of "constructive criticism".

Unsurprisingly, I tore a strip off her, because I have a penchant for trouncing fuckwits, particularly in an online space that's got a significant portion of it dedicated to educators and information-sharing.

FYI: "Ahegao" literally means "O/Orgasm-Face" (sometimes Romanised as "Oro-Face") in Japanese. That's all. It's typically depicted in an exaggerated/staged fashion (as with most pornographic content), with one's tongue sticking out and drool dripping therefrom. It's not synonymous with sexually explicit/suggestive depictions of minors, according to the definitions I've found (although that's not the case, according to our know-it-all, whom I suspect wouldn't know what a chibi is if one stood up and bit her.)

I don't like you. You remind me of me when I was young, arrogant and gullible. Fortunately, I never believe every bit of nonsense I read on the Internet (even here), nor was I a logophobe.

To address the content of your reply (ridiculous as it is), however:

• You clearly don't understand the concept that the context in which something appears or is used (even frequently) doesn't necessarily define it. Yes, Ahegao appears in Asian porn (which isn't surprising, considering it's a word in an Asian Language), including porn depicting minors.
• If you had bothered to read my reply, instead of jumping to conclusions (which I've seen you do at least thrice here) you would have realised that I wasn't on Wikipedia, but an actual dictionary, when I quoted the definition I supplied. I know full well how biased/unreliable Wikipedia is.
• How do you think Chinese and Japanese words entered my vocabulary? It couldn't possibly have been from hearing Asian people speak (a lot of Anime has terrible English dubbing) and trying to learn a fourth language, now, could it?

I suggest you go read some of dictionary.com (or Merriam Webster, if you prefer) and get back to me in a year. Good luck with that, because you're going to need it. To get you started, here's a definition I think you should learn:

Logophobe:

• a person who is afraid of words or hates them.
• a person whom is supposedly educated, but deliberately misuses words in a misguided attempt to shame/vilify another, then gets offended when called out with the actual definition(s).

Yes, for all I know, I made up that word (based on what I know about the meanings of logos and phobia) and its definitions, seeing as that's apparently a thing we're doing here. I'm submitting it for consideration, with your profile picture an an example of how it's used.

I suppose next you're going to claim that pet play is bestiality, or some other equally fatuous argument devoid of credibility/merit.

Apologies for any inaccuracies in the translation. I thought it would drive home my point to reply to her in Japanese, since she clearly cares so much about Asian languages. Despite my efforts to learn it, Japanese is not a language I know. I'm no good with non-Latinate alphabets and have to rely on translation services, which often leave a lot to be desired.
