Here is a record of my very first experience in DungeonSwap's latest release: Ancient Dungeon, where Play-to-Earn is enabled.
Prior to this release, there was only the Classic Dungeon available, where it is leaning towards Play-to-Burn. Play-to-Burn is one of DungeonSwap's tokenomics features to address sustainability - the $DND token will maintain a long-term stable supply at a reasonable price, which also means that it will neither be inflationary nor deflationary in the long term, but to have a balanced minting and burning rate. To read more about DungeonSwap's tokenomics design, check out their documentation.
To start adventuring into the Ancient Dungeon, you need a Relic which you can get from The Ancient Ruin. A Relic is an equipment with 3 attributes:
- Energy Remaining
- Maximum Energy
- Time until full energy recovers
Each time you enter the Ancient Dungeon, one energy is consumed from your equipped Relic. If your Relic has a maximum of 3 energies, then you are able to enter the Ancient Dungeon thrice before it needs to recover. You cannot enter into the Ancient Dungeon with a Relic that is recovering. The time the Relic takes to recover to full energy increases every time it enters recovery mode.
Get a Relic by contributing your DND, DND-BUSD LP or BUSD. To purchase the DND-BUSD LP, you will need to to have enough of both $DND and $BUSD tokens. How many tokens you should have depends on which Relic you wish to purchase. To secure your DND-BUSD LP, you need to go to the Liquidity Fountain where you can make the appropriate transactions.

Ancient Dungeon

You could see that I have a level 15 blue globe trophy as my Relic. This was a gift that was air-dropped to me as I was an early supporter of DungeonSwap. There's been a few more airdrops given out lately, specifically during the launch of The Ancient Dungeon. There might be more to qualify for through participation in DungeonSwap's many current and upcoming activities/promotions. Definitely keep an eye out!
Notice the "Leaderboard" on the right side of the above image. Currently this is on Round 9 and each round lasts for a day (24 hours). At the end of your adventure in the Ancient Dungeon, you will submit your score. This score is determined based on your performance in your battles with monsters in the Dungeon; and they accumulate as you go deeper into higher levels. You can pay the price of deducting your score in order to use a "Special Attack", more on this later. At the end of a round, all scores are ranked with the higher ranked able to loot more $DND (the native currency in DungeonSwap). As of the above screenshot, each $DND can be seen to equal to $0.939 USD.

In each Dungeon, there's a fascinating lore to it. Be sure to savor the story as you adventure through!

After this, I entered the Dungeon and encountered my first enemy:

Looking at the numbers in the middle of the screen, noticed the big bold green 38.35%. This tells me how much boost I have received from my equipments including the Relic that I used to enter into the Ancient Dungeon.
In the section "My Strategy", see that I have 3 actions to choose from:
- Attack - which is free
- Special Attack - which costs MP (Mana Points) + a deduction in my total score
- Escape - and submit my final score to the leaderboard
Notice the "Winning Chance" and "NFT Drop Chance" under both types of attacks. Those are the probabilities for you to defeat the monster shown, and to win the equipment as a reward respectively. For this fight, the monster is a Level 1 The Ugly Shrieker, and the equipment to win is Lightning Gem, which you can see on the right section in the above screenshot.
To increase your winning chance, you need to have NFT equipment that are of high levels, star counts, battle power, and also of the right element. Notice the lightning symbol beside the name of The Ugly Shrieker monster. Check out this elemental chart below:

See that for lightning, it is weak against mud and ice but strong against wind and fire.

Hence I equipped an axe that is of the mud element, and is among the highest levels in my collection. Notice how the big bold green numbers has jumped to 62.50% now; and now my "Winning Chance" under a Free Attack is 100% which is a guaranteed win against The Ugly Shrieker. If in this case, you have a low level mud element weapon, and a high level weapon of a different element, try equipping them each and see how they affect these numbers. The key here is to equip as few equipment/s and have as high numbers you can as your "Winning Chance" and the big bold green numbers.
You would have notice that every interaction you make in DungeonSwap requires a gas fee transaction using $BNB tokens. In the case of adventuring in Dungeons, the more equipment/s you equipped and fight, the higher the gas fee would be; hence my recommendation to equip as few equipment/s as you can.

DungeonSwap has done their best to be very transparent in your chance of winnings, as illustrated in my Battle Result and NFT Result against The Ugly Shrieker. With a 100% winning chance, my battle result has been determined; but with only a 0.25% chance of winning The Lightning Gem equipment, I had to roll less than 0.25% but instead I got 60.68% which is far from what I need to win.
My adventures continues and below are screenshots of my battles:

As you can see my "Winning Chance" is no longer 100% due to the lack of equipment of the right element and level; therefore it is a bit of a gamble to use Free Attack. However I felt a 80% "Winning Chance" is good enough. You should do what you are comfortable with, even escaping now is a good decision.

I hope you learned something from this. Please feel free to ask any questions below, and I will do my best to answer them.
