There has been a lot of confusion around crypto and FIAT and which one to choose for the future. The very reason it is called FIAT is because the government decides what value the currency should have and they print money whenever it is required. The authority decides the value of a currency and that's one of the biggest reasons why many people think cryptocurrencies can be the future and highly reliable. I'm sure this is a big debatable topic and not everyone understands and shares the same opinion here. But looks like the world is going in that direction.
Many experts say that FIAT might slowly vanish and crypto will start taking charge and some people don't believe that. I think that digital currencies might start taking over FIAT but it can take a lot of time. I would even say that it can take a few decades. It took several years for many people to believe that cryptocurrencies work and they have started investing today. Similarly, it can take a few years for people to understand that crypto is the way to go and the new generations to come will directly start using cryptocurrencies.
Why is FIAT important now?
It might look like I'm inclining more towards crypto than FIAT. But the reality is that we have to be investing in both crypto as well as FIAT. As long as we are bound by the government our position must be also strong in the real world because the government can make decisions against cryptocurrencies. It is not only that but also because we need some physical properties or investments with us, it is important to do FIAT investment or investment with the help of FIAT. The government is slowly starting to regulate cryptocurrencies and they are trying to bring some rules that would help people adopt this technology and at the same time in a very controlled manner.
The current challenges in crypto adoption
It can take several years more to understand and adapt to crypto. The technology behind cryptocurrencies is very good but at the same time, it is not the best too. There are several blockchains with different concepts but not all blockchains are successful. The main reason is that they are still facing one challenge or another and the biggest of all is crypto adoption. It is not easy to onboard someone inside the crypto world. Initially, they might have a thousand questions in their mind but even after investing, they will not know how all this works. After they get to see a few bull market trends and bear market trends, there is a high chance that they might have some learning and might stick around.
Wise investment
When we talk about investment, I would personally say that diversification is very important. Whether it is crypto or it is FIAT, I would say that we shouldn't put all our eggs in one basket, and at the same time we should not be making the same type of investment. If we are doing stock market investment, we shouldn't do that alone in the FIAT world. We should slowly get involved in property investments and bonds and commodities like Gold, silver, etc.
There are equivalent investment opportunities in the crypto world too. Some of the investments are safe and given a good APR. But for people to know about these investments, they have to first understand the basics of crypto and slowly get started with investments. To conclude I would say that the investment should be in both FIAT as well as crypto in a highly balanced and regulated manner.
