Bad Dad Joke of the Day 08/11

Bad Dad Joke of the Day 08/11

Mōrena everyone, well the weekend has passed and we are well into the new week, I hope you were all able to spend some time relaxing with friends or family. Saturday saw the Guy Fawkes celebration(?) here in Aotearoa, it's interesting because as a kid this was a big deal, everybody in the street had their fireworks and we all gathered outside to let them off and watch each others. Nowdays it seems to almost have died out, there were no fireworks on our street this year, mind you we also did not take part. We could, however, hear the explosions from the local community event. I was wondering, is this a reflection on the fact that we do not have the disposable income to set alight, or is it a reflection on the fact that we have moved away from this as being important? Something that is on the rise is the rememberance of the invasion of Parihaka, where over 1000 armed troops entered a peaceful village, arrested it's leaders and razed it to the ground. Food for thought?

Anyway moving on with the topic at hand, I have 2 jokes today, one that requires a level of science knowledge, and ona baout pirates, and who doesn't love a pirate joke!

Have a great day. take care, stay safe.
