If you've been in crypto a while, you'll be well aware of the fact that prices can change rapidly in both directions. And while there is always purists in life, for some, trading and acquiring meme (shit) coins is what crypto's all about.
While it's not everyone's cup of tea, some of the movements this week were significant enough that they deserved their own write up. Let's have a look at some of the high movers from this week.
Before we start though, remember that this article isn't financial advice and that you should do your on research before jumping in on projects.
Contender 1: BONK
A Solana powered meme coin, Bonk came to recognition after users were able to earn airdrops and free Bonk for engaging with the Solana ecosystem's De-Fi apps.
Bonk spiked heavily over the past ten days, reaching an ATH before tapering off slightly. While it is a memecoin, it hasn't deterred many, who've jumped on board anyways. While it may not pump again, many still see value in it.
Contender 2: Optimism (OP)
A layer 2 solution with potential optimism powers the read to earn site Publish0x. Layer 2's have seen an increase in popularity of late with many choosing to take advantage of lower transaction times. We're bullish on OP so we like acquiring it where we can. OP saw significant gains this week, with increases in both market cap and token price. It's current trade price is a significant gain week on week.
Contender 3: Solana (SOL)
If you've paid attention this week you've probably seen Solana in the news for all the right reasons. While it deserves credit on market cap and token price alone, Solana went a bit further and made users aware that holders of Solana Phones would receive significant airdrops and incentives for using the network and holding the device. With that said, the price of a SOL phone spiked immediately with some being listed for 5k.
SOL showed good growth this week, starting at around $70usd and closing out at around $95
Contender 4: The Graph (GRT)
Coming of the back of recent upgrades, GRT saw a reasonable jump midweek before tapering off at the end of the week, but still showed solid gains, recording a jump of around 10% on last weeks values. Generally, GRT has done pretty well across the year, trading over 200% compared to it's 2022 prices. With more upgrades to come, GRT is one to watch.
Contender 5: Coq Inu
We can't do a legitimate write up without including at least one genuine shitcoin among the gems. For today's article it's Coq Inu. Looking like a rug in the making, Coq Inu saw 30% gains in the last 24hrs and over 130% over the last week. With little information on this one, people got on board anyways looking for the moon. We might come back and look at this one in the new year to see how it played out.
So there you have it! A quick look at some of the decent gainers over the last seven days. Got any hot tips, or punting on a shitcoin yourself? Drop a comment and let us know!!
And to everyone who's read, commented, tipped and given feed back over the course of 2023, thank you for your support. We're excited to see what 2024 brings!
