ChatGPT artificial intelligence to determine the future price of Bitcoin (BTC), a bad idea?

Bitcoin has recently gained attention in the cryptocurrency community following a recent statement by Balaji Srinivasan, a venture capitalist and former CTO of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, that the price of Bitcoin could reach $1 million in the next three months. This statement has sparked the interest of many analysts and investors, who wonder whether this prediction could come true.

With this in mind, some analysts turned to OpenAI's text-based artificial intelligence platform, ChatGPT, for predictions. After a request to ChatGPT, the AI delivered optimistic results, although far from the $1 million that some have suggested.

Indeed, ChatGPT predicts a price of $300,000 for Bitcoin in 2030. Although the AI warned that it is an artificial intelligence language model and cannot "predict future Bitcoin prices with certainty or accuracy", it still managed to provide some interesting figures.

According to the AI tool's predictions, Bitcoin is expected to reach a price of $150,000 in 2024, adding about $25,000 each year until it reaches a very attractive $300,000 in 2030.

An (overly) optimistic value for Bitcoin?

While this is a very optimistic prediction, others have gotten even more optimistic responses from ChatGPT. For example, one Twitter user shared an exceptionally optimistic prediction, which sees Bitcoin trading at $1 million by 2030. However, this response could not be replicated despite the use of various formulations.

The point is that ChatGPT's predictions are only speculative and do not guarantee the future of the cryptocurrency market. Nevertheless, these forecasts can be useful for investors seeking to understand market trends, but should not be used to make investment decisions.
