There are many pedestrian bridges across the canals in Aveiro. But one of them has great cultural significance for both locals and visitors due to its symbolic depiction of unity and cooperation. It is called "Bonds of Friendship" (Laços de Amizade).

"Bonds of Friendship" (Laços de Amizade) It has become customary for people visiting Aveira to tie ribbons on the railings of this bridge and nearby ones as a symbol of their friendship or relationship, thereby giving a colorful and vibrant aura to this simple wooden bridge.

This tradition has also given rise to numerous local legends and folklore, further enriching the cultural landscape of Aveiro. For example, it is believed that if two friends tie their ribbons on a bridge, their friendship will last forever.
