Ćmy na mojej lampie do komputera, na szczęście to nie był płomień świecy
These undoubtedly beautiful and defenseless creatures are always welcome in my home. Recently, while staying in a country house, a moth came to my computer late in the evening.
Te niewątpliwie piękne i bezbronne stworzenia zawsze są mile widziane w moim domu. Ostatnio, podczas pobytu w wiejskim domku, późnym wieczorem ćma przybyła do mojego komputera.
To this day, it is not known why moths fly to light. Apparently it has to do with the moonlight, which is their guide, and any other external light disrupts their flight trajectory.
Do dzisiaj nie wiadomo dlaczego ćmy lecą do światła. Podobno ma to związek ze światłem księżyca, które jest ich drogowskazem, a każde inne zewnętrzne światło zakłóca im trajektorię lotu.
But why do they sit close to the light source and stay there for hours? Or do they burn over a candle flame?
Ale dlaczego siadają blisko źródła światła i potrafią tam trwać godzinami? Albo spalają się nad płomieniem świecy?
She sat down on the computer lamp and sat there for a long time. There was light and the temperature was right because the LED lamp doesn't get too hot.
Usiadła sobie na lampce komputerowej i bardzo długo siedziała. Było światło, i była odpowiednia temperatura, ponieważ lampka diodowa nie nagrzewa się zbytnio.
In the morning I found her on the curtain, looking for sunlight. So I took her for a walk, outside the house, to the southern wall, where the morning sun was already shining brightly. She stayed there until the evening.
Rano znalazłem ją już na zasłonce, gdzie szukała światła słonecznego. Zabrałem ją więc na spacer, na zewnątrz domu, na ścianę południową, gdzie świetnie operowało już poranne słońce. Została tam do wieczora.
There are about 3,000 species of moths in Poland, so as a layman I am not able to accurately determine its name. I suspect it is the dandelion beetle.
W Polsce występuje około 3000 gatunków ciem, więc jako laik nie jestem w stanie dokładnie określić jej nazwy. Podejrzewam, że jest to Brudnica mniszka.
The next day she flew away somewhere far away, but her friends arrived and in the evenings they created interesting shadows by flying around the outdoor lamp in the yard of the house.
Następnego dnia odleciała sobie gdzieś daleko, ale przyleciały jej koleżanki i koledzy, którzy wieczorami tworzyli ciekawe cienie latając wokół zewnętrznej lampy na podwórku domu.
