Daily walks in the park always lead me to one place - my favorite bench. It doesn't matter if it's raining or snowy - and minus 10 degrees, I still come to the same place at the end of the walk.

But I'm not the only one who comes there. A whole flock of birds appears. Jays, tits, crows, pigeons and of course jackdaws. The latter visit the feeding site in groups and it is difficult to distinguish them from each other.

Jest jednak jeden osobnik, który przylatuje zawsze, i zazwyczaj jest pierwszy. Do tego jest najbardziej odważny i podchodzi najbliżej, choć są to młode osobniki.

It has a distinctive mark that I noticed recently. It has white tail feathers, which is rare among jackdaws and I have not seen a similar individual in its team. This is clearly visible when enlarged. This is his hallmark. Of course, he is also the bravest and usually the first to eat, he fights for his territory, he is not afraid of magpies or jays - this is also what makes him stand out.

Ma znak szczególny, który zauważyłem niedawno. Posiada bowiem białe pióra na ogonie, co jest rzadkością u kawek i nie widziałem w jego drużynie podobnego osobnika. Widać to wyraźnie na powiększeniu. I feel a bit sorry because I fed them for quite a long time and they often sat next to me on the bench. But such are the vicissitudes of life.

Podejrzewam jednak, ze proces adaptacji i przyzwyczajanie się do mojej osoby potrwa jeszcze przynajmniej do wiosny. Starsze pokolenie kawek albo wymarło, albo odleciało w inne miejsca. Trochę mi szkoda, bo karmiłem je dość długo, i siadały często obok mnie na ławce. Ale takie są koleje życia.
