Waleczna, zadziorna modraszka i zimowa walka o pożywienie

Winter is not easy for birds in my geographical area. Large creatures such as jackdaws, ravens, crows and jays cope quite well, but there are also small birds for which winter is a really difficult time.

Zima dla ptaków w moim obszarze geograficznym nie jest łatwa. Duże stworzenia jak kawki, kruki, wrony, czy sójki radzą sobie w miarę dobrze, ale są też małe ptaszki, dla których zima to naprawdę trudny okres.

Small blue tits, even though they are very lively, feisty and brave, cannot cope with snow, especially since there has been a lot of it this year and the number is still increasing.

Drobne sikorki modraszki, mimo iż są bardzo żwawe, zadziorne i waleczne nie radzą sobie w śniegu, tym bardziej, że w tym roku napadało go sporo, i jeszcze przybywa.

Gdy przychodzę na miejsce karmienia ptaków, na moją ulubioną ławkę zawsze odganiam śnieg, by ptaki z łatwością dostrzegły ziarna i orzechy. Ale mimo to, nawet niewielkie pagórki śniegu, dla małych modraszek są wielkimi zaspami.

Fighting against unfavorable weather and deep snow is one thing. But you still have to fight bigger, stronger birds. This is where the blue tit has a big advantage. He comes very close, sometimes sits on my shoe and waits for a nut seed. She knows perfectly well that no other bird will come so close and take her food.

Walka z niesprzyjającą aurą, i głębokim śniegiem to jedno. Ale trzeba jeszcze walczyć z większymi, silniejszymi ptakami. Tu akurat modraszka ma sporą przewagę. Podchodzi bardzo blisko, czasami siada na moim bucie i czeka na ziarenko orzecha. Wie doskonale, ze żaden inny ptak nie podejdzie tak blisko, i nie zabierze jej pożywienia.
