Rabindranath Tagore was a poet, novelist, short story writer, essayist, songwriter, music composer, painter, teacher, educationist, entrepreneur, filmmaker, social worker, humanist, etc.

• Rabindranath Tagore's qualities shouldn't be blindly followed and can't be recreated.

Engaging in the activities, Tagore pursued throughout his life can have a positive impact on our lives.

Literature, art, music, films, etc., are creative aspects of human life.

• Rabindranath Tagore received the Nobel Prize in Literature for his poetry book, "Geetanjali."

• "Geetanjali" is his self-translation of the original book written in Bangla (Bengali). He translated his original Bangla poetries into English himself. One can imagine the quality of his original Bangla poetries.

Rabindranath also wrote 5000+ songs and composed the music for most of them, which are now famously known as 'Rabindra Sangeet.'

• If we consider only music, as a music composer, Rabindranath made a deep impact in his musical creations comprising original songs and opera-like musical dance dramas.

• Rabindranath also created a distinct dance form for his musical dance dramas.

Rabindranath's songs are in the minds and lives of Bangla-speaking people of the world.

• Rabindranath also created a film on celluloid based on his musical drama, 'Natir Puja.'

• The film was shot in the New Theatre Studios of Kolkata.

Unfortunately, the print of the film has been lost.

Education and academics are essential for human empowerment.

Rabindranath Tagore's contributions to the domain of education and academics are invaluable and have had a significant impact on the Indian higher education arena.

• Rabindranath Tagore founded "Shantiniketan," a freedom-oriented educational institute of higher learning, which is now known as, "Vishwabharati University."

• Rabindranath introduced a new system of teaching and learning methodology where the classes were organized outside classrooms and in the lap of nature under trees. Only during rainfall, the classes are shifted to rooms and lecture halls.

Rabindranath's "Shantiniketan" is now recognized by global academicians and researchers, and has collaborations and cooperation with the rest of the world.

An entrepreneurial mindset is a must for societal growth.

• Rabindranath Tagore has got an entrepreneurial mindset.

Rabindranath Tagore founded a publishing house named "Vishwabharati" and started self-publishing his books.

• Rabindranath understood that the control and monopoly of commercial publishers may put hindrances and delays in publishing his books.

We may recognize Rabindranath as one of the pioneers of self-publishing with his own publishing house "Vishwabharati."

• Now, self-publishing has become popular for publishing books worldwide.

• In the early 1990s, self-publishing and founding a publishing house needed a lot of courage and forward-looking charisma.

Rabindranath Tagore showed how to get rid of the complexities of publishing books from commercial publishers and laid down the foundation of self-publishing.

Rabindranath Tagore was open to learning and adopting new sciences and engineering.

• Tagore sent his son Rathindranath to the US to study agricultural engineering so that Rathindranath's advanced education in agriculture could be adopted in the locality.

Tagore understood that the country needed to update knowledge in all branches of science and engineering.

• Tagore also started to study the theory of relativity in his last few years.

Tagore wrote a small book named "Vishwa Parichaya" narrating the most modern research findings and ongoing research of astronomy in simple Bangla.

Rabindranath Tagore can be a global role model.

• Human civilization has to sustain growth in the real world.

The academics and the research community have a responsibility to add value and show paths to sustain in the real world.

• Who could be a role model for us?

• Rabindranath Tagore may remain a role model for how to add value and sustain in all domains of education and academics, including science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Rabindranath Tagore will remain a 'friend, philosopher, and guide' to show us which paths to follow.
