The daily volume of commissions of miners in Ethereum has become more than in Bitcoin

The average daily volume of commissions for transactions in the Ethereum blockchain significantly increased and exceeded the similar indicator of the Bitcoin blockchain.
Glassnode analysts said on Twitter that the fees on the Ethereum network for June 5 were almost $ 500,000, while Bitcoin blockchain users paid $ 308,000 per day. On June 6 and 7, the gap between the two largest blockchains widened even more.

After halving the award, bitcoin miners accumulated a significant number of unconfirmed transactions on the network, which led to a strong increase in commissions. By May 20, the total daily volume of commissions for transactions in the Bitcoin blockchain exceeded $ 1.5 million. However, by May 25, the commissions decreased markedly, and in early June fell even more. If in mid-May the average transaction fee was more than $ 5, now it has dropped to $ 1.

At the same time, the number of transactions in the Ethereum network continues to grow. This is mainly due to the popularity of stablecoins and an increase in the number of operations with them. At the time of publication of the second cryptocurrency on the network, about 103,000 transactions remain unconfirmed.

Interestingly, although now the average size of commissions in the Bitcoin network has noticeably decreased, it is still 277% higher than the average transaction fee with BTC at the beginning of the year.
