It uses a digital version of your loved ones to do so, but how do they get the data...
The project plans the creation of a chatbot or digital copy to recreate the persons’ talking characteristics to bring anyone back to life virtually. It’ll gather info from the social networks, mails, voice mails, pictures and videos stored in different platforms. It's yet to know how they're going get the permission to do so if the person is not around.
The gathered info is supposedly used to train an AI to recreate a specific person, dead or living, like a friend, family, a fictional character, a historical figure, a celebrity (omg), or even an entity, whatever that means. Crowley would be proud of this virtual ouija. A step closer to the other side of our reality or to the concept of the ghost in the machine.
Anyway, the backside of the patent is the idea to make possible a digital version of anyone leaving a digital trace, but it clarifies that if enough data isn’t available it could use alternative sources to complete the data… mmh.
