RollerCoin launched their 2nd season pass about two month ago. Like any season pass that are available for games, owning one would entitle you on getting rewards. To get these rewards you would need to level up your season pass by doing weekly quest, and logging in to the website/game daily.
Now I know I'm a little late to the party, but since I've been spending a lot of time on the game, I wanted to do my research before I spend my money. In this article, I will breakdown all the calculation to determine whether purchasing a season pass is worth it or not.
Comparing Season Pass I to Season Pass II
Season pass 1 and 2 both cost 199.99 RLT or $199.99.
However, season pass 1 had 20 levels complete in order for you to get all of the rewards, but season pass 2 only has 15 levels to complete. At first glance, this might seem like a good thing, where you would need less levels and XP to complete the season pass and get the last level's reward (which is generally the best prize). For whatever reasons the developer ended up changing the amount of levels - it is not good. Not only that you get less rewards now, but also getting through 20 levels in season 1 is easier than getting through 15 levels in season 2.
Season Pass 1 = 20 Levels. 1 Level - 100 XP -> 2000 XP for 20 Levels.
Season Pass 2 = 15 Levels. 1 Level - 140 XP -> 2100 XP for 15 Levels.
Essentially, this shows that the level of difficulty to achieve maximum level is just as hard as before. Where it used to take 100 XP to raise your level by one, now it takes 140 XP. Which makes the total amount of XP needed to reach maximum level to be 2000 XP for the first season pass and 2100 XP for the second season pass.
How Much XP Can You Get As A Free To Play Player?
Daily XP
Let's first breakdown how much XP you can get daily. Logging into the game 7 times gives you a total of 63 XP, with the first day giving you 2 XP, second gives you 3 XP, third gives you 5 XP, fourth 8 XP, fifth 10 XP, sixth 15 XP, and 20 XP on your seventh day.
[2 + 3 + 5 + 8 + 10 + 15 + 20 = 63 XP]
The season pass lasts for 8.5 weeks:
[8 * 63 + 2 + 3 + 5 + 8 = 522 XP]
522 XP is the total amount of XP that can be gain from logging in to the game daily, which gives you 3.7 levels.
Weekly XP
Now let's breakdown how much can be gained from doing the weekly quest, where there are 9 week quest to complete. Mind you that two of the quest given out every week are damn near impossible to complete every week for the average player. One quest requires you to invite one new player using your referral every week, while the other quest requires you to spend 40 RLT ($40) every week. With that being said, here is the total amount of XP that can be gathered from the weekly quest:
-
You don't invite or spend 40 RLT you get
[85 per week]or[9 * 85 = 765 during all event]. That means in total you have[765 + 522 = 1287 XP]so...1287 / 140 = 9.2-> You reach rewards LVL 9. -
You invite but don't spend 40 RLT you get
[100 per week]or[9 * 100 = 900 XP during all event]. That means in total you have[900 + 522 = 1422 XP]so...1422/140 = 10.1-> You reach LVL 10.

From this breakdown, we can conclude that if we are able to spend 40 RLT every week we can reach level 9 as a free to play player, while if you do invite a new player every week you can reach level 10. To be completely honest, getting level 9 or even level 10 as a free to play player will be very unlikely unless you have a lot of time to spend playing RollerCoin, where you are required to play 160 minigames in total and logging in daily for next 60+ days.
Here is a list of all the quest you need to finish weekly:
How Much Money You Need To Spend To Reach Maximum Level?
Let's say that you manage to get to level 10 by doing all the weekly and daily quest. That means that you would have accumulated about 1422 XP from the 2100 XP that you would need to reach maximum level. This leaves you with 678 XP that is unobtainable without you spending additional money on top of the 199.99 RLT ($ 199.99) you spend for the season pass.
Each level of the season pass will cost you 40 RLT ($40).
[7 x 40 = 280 RLT / $280]
[199.99 + 280 = 480 RLT / $480]
In total, you would need to spend an additional $280 to get to the max level, which puts the total cost to $480 considering that you did all of the quest everyday. But fret not, the season pass will give you 60 RLT ($60) for FREE if you reach level 2, 7, and 11 as a season pass holder. How generous of them to cut your total cost from $480 to just a cool $420.
But what if you didn't do any of the daily and weekly quest?
You would need to pay 759.99 RLT ($759.99) which is an absurd amount of money to be spending on a crypto mining simulator.

Conclusion
The initial price tag of 199.99 RLT ($199.99) is a total scam, where you would think that you would be able to get all the prizes and reach maximum level before the season ends without paying an additional cost. Where you won't get all of the 865% value in buying the season pass, but more like 400% value - which if you have the money to burn, could be well spent.
This game requires you to log in to the game daily and playing their mini-games 160 times weekly, and for me who barely manage to complete the weekly quest once, was already super boring and tedious.
Essentially, this game is quite similar to Axie Infinity where the entry point for the game is really expensive and if you're willing to spend the money you will earn a lot of money as well. But there are a lot of better investment options out there other than RollerCoin, but if you're passionate on what they're doing and what's to come for the game - this definitely can be a great purchase. Updates such as the free drops, marketplace, and more will definitely attract more people and further popularize the game. Not to mention, that the marketplace update that they will add some time in the future will help you cash out faster, by allowing you to sell these limited edition miners you get from the season pass and special events that sells/rewards you limited edition miners.
The future of RollerCoin seems promising, however with their new addition of lootbox has made RollerCoin less of a game but more of a gambling site. I hope they steer away from further developing this side of the game and focuses on their mini-games, adding new content and polishing what's already working.
