Anons first Crypto. Post #3

I've been investigating cryptocurrency and the decentralized web since the start of May 2020.

This blog is an avenue of documentation and expression of my experience.

So for a long story short in terms of background, I had never bought any cryptocurrency in my life, really up until hearing a few YouTubers mention Ghost coins and how the ESH/GHOST (ERC placeholder token) airdrop would work. I knew next to nothing other then that BTC was the bees knees a while ago. The idea of a privacy coin as apposed to all the FIAT stuff I'd been listening to and learning about really peaked my interest. This was back when I was learning about the traditional stock markets and different styles of investing. So I was pretty convinced I was going to try buy some myself. That meant I had to work out how first.

I underwent my own crash course on how/where to buy ETH, how to store it, should it be on an exchange or wallet etc. Luckily there were a number of people in the same boat as me, essentially FOMOing into an absolute roller coaster of a hold all at the same time, so there was plenty of material on different platforms I.E YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, interestingly the most volatile and explicit material was found on /biz/ where you would find many strong feelings on either side of the fence. All of this was very amusing, luckily the abundance of information people were spreading to boost their bags helped me work out what the hell I was doing. In hindsight I know this was mostly a coordinated shilling spree right before the whales dumped their ESH bags following the PIVX whitepaper fiasco, however I'll leave that for a later post.

For anybody reading who isn't aware of how the initial Ghost airdrop was supposed to work you basically had to hold ESH (switch) tokens in an approved wallet such as MetaMask. Then on the date of the airdrop, may 25th you would receive your GHOST airdrop at a ratio of exactly 1:1 ESH/GHOST. From what I can tell it went smoothly for wallet holders with >400-500 ESH, wallets that contained less might of got somehow missed along the way however I believe all airdrops have since been completed, I had a few people in various discords keep me updated with when they got their tokens. 

I was lucky enough to receive my GHOST airdrop without a hitch and have since hodl'd the whole way up and down then almost back up to the ATH at the time of writing this post. I'll continue to write about the experience over the next few days. I'll look at the period between buying ESH and the PIVX white paper news/fud in my next post.
