Today we’re excited to announce that we support a full Developer API solution for building projects on Polygon.
While we still support Polygon validator nodes through our node hosting service, the new Developer API allows Polygon developers to instantly create a private HTTPS or websocket endpoint. Both regular full nodes and archive nodes (historical data) are supported.
Back in September 2018, Ankr met the Matic team and hosted a presentation together at a meetup in Mumbai. Since then, we have been actively working together. By early 2020, we had rolled out our 1-click node hosting service for Matic’s testnet, resulting in Polygon becoming one of the most popular nodes on Ankr.
Fast forward to 2021, Matic — rebranded to Polygon — is one of the most sought-after Layer 2 solutions in the blockchain space.

Ankr’s Developer API improves upon our node hosting service by instantly giving access to the current highest block, meaning developers no longer have to wait for the node to sync. Under the hood, our load balancer technology improves reliability and performance by leveraging a cluster of Polygon nodes. If an individual node has an issue, it is automatically removed from the cluster without breaking the connection to the chain.
Ankr’s Developer API scales as you grow your dApp. Users can sign up for a rate-limited free plan and scale up to our enterprise solution which can support thousands of requests per second. This allows developers to future-proof their Polygon infrastructure!

How to create a RPC endpoint for Polygon?
1. Sign up for a free user account at Ankr.com
2. Navigate to API on the sidebar
3. Click Polygon, choose full or archive mode,
4. Name your API service, choose mainnet or testnet
5. Select token for security (recommended) or username/pass, and deploy!
